Prague is also known as the Golden City and is one of the most visited city destinations in the world. The sights in #prague are not too far apart. But since the city has so much to offer, the routes are a bit drawn out in the long run. What is especially nice is that Prague still has many old trams that spread real nostalgia. Not only the appearance is beautiful, you also feel years back inside. Here is our list of the most beautiful sights and insider tips for sightseeing in Prague.

Prague Castle

According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest castle in the world. Bohemian kings, Holy Roman emperors and Austrian emperors lived in it.  The area is 70,000m² and has a program for at least half a day.

Golden Lane

The Golden Lane belongs to Prague Castle. In the alley you will find craft shops, historical buildings (for example, Franz Kafka worked in house no. 22) and exhibitions from the Middle Ages. The lane has become one of the most visited parts of the castle. Therefore you have to pay an entrance fee until 18.00. After that the entrance is free, but all buildings are closed.

Charles Bridge

The bridge itself is a tourist magnet almost around the clock. Nevertheless, when visiting Prague, it simply belongs to it. On the bridge you will find artists and many souvenir stalls. It should bring luck to touch the statues on the Charles Bridge. From Letná Park you can watch the Charles Bridge and the hustle and bustle on the bridge from above.

Old Town Hall

The famous tower of the Town Hall with the astronomical clock stands on the Old Town Square in the centre of Prague. The tower is one of the most beautiful vantage points of Prague's New Town. In the Town Hall you can see an exhibition of paintings and the rooms of the Town Hall. The mechanics in the background of the astronomical clock are also part of it. The famous Prague lintel happened in the castle, not in the town hall.

Exploring the Vltava in Prague

The Vltava flows directly through Prague. On the banks of the Vltava you can go for a nice walk. Again and again there are areas in the river where you can go by pedal boat or rowing boat. Near the Charles Bridge there is a great island with a sandy beach. On the island you can sunbathe or drink a café under the trees. Especially in summer, when it is warm, we can only recommend you to explore the area along the Vltava River.

These and many other exciting sights you can see below await you during your visit to Prague. So what are you waiting for?
