Camping In Northern Germany

The north is definitely one of the most versatile and congenial destinations in #Germany. We promise you: If you park your #camper behind the dunes of the wide beaches or walk through the well-preserved Hanseatic cities like #Lübeck, you will also quickly succumb to the northern German charm.

Lüneburg

A walk through the picturesque and winding streets (salt once made the city rich and this wealth can still be seen in the many beautiful patrician houses) or a very relaxing trip to the nearby Lüneburg Heath - No matter what time of year or weather in #Lüneburg there is always so much to experience.

Lauenburg Lakes

It is the oldest nature park in Schleswig-Holstein, which since 1960 has preserved a treasure trove of diversity and species. In the 474 square kilometer large protected area around the Ratzeburger See and Schaalsee, sustainable management and tourist offers promote the protection of the landscape and an understanding of natural processes.

Lübeck

Lübeck's old town with its approximately 1800 listed buildings, located on an island and declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, is home to numerous sights and museums that can be easily explored on foot as you stroll through the corridors and courtyards.

Timmendorfer Strand

Timmendorfer Strand offers you #beach fun, promenade stroll and nature experience at the same time. If you want a change from beach life, you can take a bike tour or hike to the other seaside resorts of the Lübeck Bay or explore the charming hinterland. 

Heiligenhafen

Water as far as the eye can see, sandy beaches for young and old, and many recreational and #wellness opportunities. Heiligenhafen offers everything for the perfect vacation at the Baltic Sea. In summer, Heiligenhafen is the optimal destination for swimming enthusiasts, because there is neither low tide nor high tide, you can let off steam at any time in the low-current and only slowly deepening water. Ideal for #families, children can play in the fine sand, build sand castles and splash in the shallow water on the guarded and clean beach.

Fehmarn

Kiel

Kiel is a relaxed big city by the sea. Its largest sports and leisure area is 17 kilometers long: the fjord and its beaches. In the immediate vicinity of the fjord, eight museums present their top-class collections ranging from living seals to lovingly restored museum ships.

Husum

In Husum you can experience ebb and flow in the middle of the city. The combination of city life, nature and typical North Frisian tradition makes #Husum a very special destination on the North #Sea. In the immediate vicinity of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, excursions to the national park are a must: for #swimming, mudflat hiking, cycling or simply relaxing. 

Camping tip: Camping ground Seeblick

The family-friendly Seeblick #campground near Husum has a special feature: it is the only site on the North Sea coast of Schleswig-Holstein without a dike and thus with an unobstructed view of the sea. Camping at the North Sea is especially #relaxing on this site due to its quiet location and when you step out into the fresh air in the morning, you can already smell the sea. On this place you can let your soul dangle. Also, be sure to hike in the nearby forest and at low tide through the Wadden Sea.

Saint Peter-Ording

Twelve kilometers of fine sandy beach, dunes, salt marshes, pine forest and sea: this combination makes St. Peter-Ording one of the most popular vacation spots on the North Sea coast. The municipality is the only German seaside resort to have its own sulfur spring and therefore bears the designation "North Sea spa and sulfur bath".

Camping tip: Biehl in St. Peter-Ording

The campsite is located directly on the North Sea - more precisely on the twelve-kilometer-long fine sandy beach of St. Peter-Ording. Everything you need for a feel-good camping vacation is within easy reach, such as restaurants, cafés or small stores. Take a hike across the wide fields and salt marshes or along the beautiful coast.

Friedrichskoog

Friedrichskoog at the North Sea is a vacation resort in wide nature directly at the National Park Wadden Sea. Here is always a light fresh breeze, sometimes a little more violent, especially in autumn and spring, but that's what makes the charm of Friedrichskoog. The North Sea spa offers a lot of health-promoting measures for young and old.

Hamburg

The port city is known for its canals, lakes and parks, the Kunsthalle and the nightlife on the Reeperbahn.

Camping tip: Elbinsel Lühesand

This special campsite is located just outside Hamburg in the middle of the Elbe River. The owner runs his own ferry that takes you directly to the cozy self-catering campground. There is no real plot structure there, but each camper has enough free space.
