It is your first time in #Berlin? Don’t worry, we will help you to get the vibe of the city. There is so much to see that we can only present a hint here of what the city actually has to offer.

Fleamarket at Mauerpark

Berlin has a long tradition of #fleamarkets. On weekends you will find several fleamarkets across the city but none of them beats the weekly Sunday fleamarket at #Mauerpark in #PrenzlauerBerg District. Treasure hunters will find everything from clothes, furniture, bicycles, vinyl records, shoes up to unidentifiable junk. Notorious #karaoke sessions included!

Checkpoint Charlie

Checkpoint Charlie was the gateway between the #western, Allied controlled part of Berlin and the #eastern part, which was controlled by the Soviet Union from 1961 to 1990. It was built by the #GDR government to prevent East Germans from fleeing permanently to the West and became a testimony and symbol of the #ColdWar. Several museums worth seeing are located directly at #CheckpointCharlie.

Memorial of the Murdered Jews of Europe

The Memorial of the Murdered Jews of Europe, also known as the #HolocaustMemorial, marks one of the darkest chapters of this city and mankind in general. It was built to remember 6 million jews who were murdered during the reign of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialists. It is a place where the clock stops ticking and it is hard to find words to describe this place, you have to experience it yourself.
